Butchered from the childhood reading book, 'A Day Out In The Sun', Peter and Jane go on a trip they will remember for a long time...

Sometimes my work centers around quite negative, dark things. Things that most people would rather not accept happens or at least wish they could brush under the carpet. Many people think that these things should not be the subject of art. I disagree. I feel it important to sometimes focus on surviving these things, our ability to cope, adjust and move on. Some people are unable to do this. I unfortunately know many. Our experiences, good or bad can affect us far more deeply than we may ever probably be aware, they can change our thinking patterns, distort the way we see the world and therefor effect the way we may relate to others and the outside world. Actions can then be misinterpreted therefor making the individual feel even more an outsider.

The 'Peter and Jane' series is one where I did not hide the darkness. We are living in an era where childhood for many is vanishing. From so many quarters innocence is being lost, yet these children do not posses the maturity to fully understand, deal and act in this adult world in which they are being forced to inhabit.  I have now removed this gallery as some have found it too uncomfortable to view, the way it so bluntly showed you how the minds of some of these victims can be affected. I didn't mean to offend. All I meant to do was, for just one moment, no matter how uncomfortable, put you into their mind, hopefully help you understand them a little more and show survival of this kind of thing is possible - albeit at a price.
